Hokie Joint

Hokie Joint have created a ground breaking twist on the genre, and are now set to return to The Old Town Hall to remind the blues world they have really arrived.

This five piece band, made up of Jo Jo Burgess (vocals), Fergie Fulton (bassist), Joel Fisk (guitarist), Stephen Cupsey Cutmore (drummer) and Giles King (harmonica), have been playing their own unique brand of dirty, roots based groove music since they got together in 2007.

The following year saw the release of their debut album ‘The way it Goes … Sometimes’ through Amsterdam based label Cool Buzz.

They have shared the stage with some of the greats, including Steve Winwood, Booker T and Solomon Burke, and have graced some of the most prestigious stages on the UK and European circuit - including two main stage performances at the BRBF 2009 (Peer, Belgium) and Maryport Blues Festival 2010 (UK) where the band were seen as real show-stoppers.

Last year Hokie Joint embarked on their busiest year of touring yet, playing with the likes of ZZ Top, Jamie Cullum and Moby. The very same year they released their second album ‘The Music Starts To Play’, which draws influences from the depths of Danube and the darkness of the Delta.

The members of Hokie Joint have a wealth of experience both on their own and as a band. This combined talent makes for a great show.

So, don’t miss Hokie Joint at The Old Town Hall Theatre, Friday 27th April, 8pm. Tickets cost £10.
